Whether it’s a tool box lid, a tonneau cover on a pickup truck, an automated teller machine or a tanning bed cover, you can rely on Normont’s engineers to make sure that you have made the most efficient, economical choice.
THE BASICS
The NSE multi-lobe seal design gas spring is an energy storage device similar in function to mechanical coil springs. A gas spring stores energy by compressing the nitrogen gas within the gas spring. As an NSE gas spring is compressed, the gas chamber volume is reduced by the intrusion of the shaft into the gas spring tube, causing the gas pressure to rise, storing the energy.
The goal of a gas spring is to move or resist movement of an object. Typically for a gas spring, the object to be moved is a lift gate on a van or a hood on a car, computer covers etc. In fact there are unlimited uses for gas springs. But no matter what the application is, the principle remains the same, controlled release of stored energy, i.e. controlled motion.
Because we recognize the fact that designing a gas spring application is not an everyday function we have put into place a number of ways for you to obtain assistance.
